He is survived by children Thomas Alan Ray, Richard Earl Ray, and Carol Anne Ray (Dr. David L. Gordon); special family friend Michael Dean Williams; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He served in both the US Army and the Navy. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 113 in Tarrant. He was referred to as “the Tarrant Whirlwind” while playing football for Tarrant High School.
The family will receive friends at Ridout's Trussville Chapel Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm. A graveside service will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
