John L. Adams (Johnny), 81, Fairfield, AL passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents John Q. Adams and Lottie H. Adams and son-in-law Jerry Hollifield. Graduate of Bessemer High School Purple Tigers 1949-1952, Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in 1956, Lettered in Football ’52-’55. Survivors include: Wife, Patricia O. Adams; Daughters, Debra Hewlett (Kyle) and Diane Hollifield; Sister, Betty Aydelott; Grandchildren, Shaffer Hewlett (Lindsey), Leslie Price (Bradford), Magen Davis (Daniel), Adam Hollifield, and Jeri Kay Moujoodi (Justin); 2 Great Grandsons and 5 Great Granddaughters. Honorary Pall Bearers, Auburn Football Lettermens Club. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at Elmwood Chapel followed by funeral services at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
