He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Ruby Bookmiller; and his brother, James Bookmiller.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of sixty-one years, Patricia Bookmiller; three daughters, Diane (Freddy) Piper; Gloria Mitchell; and Regina (Allen) Hawkins; a son, Alan (Tami) Bookmiller; along with eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Hershel Bookmiller.
Visitation will be at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 6 – 8 PM with a funeral service to follow on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Burial will be in Sunrise Memory Gardens.
