John Robison

ROBISON, JOHN ARTHUR BANCROFT John Arthur Bancroft Robison was born at Golden Grove, St. Thomas Parish Jamaica British West Indies November 9, 1915 He was educated at Kings College in Kingston Jamaica. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II. Married Barbara Helen Wittman in 1944 and moved to Birmingham in 1946. He was employed by Alabama Gas till his retirement in 1979. He was a convert to Catholicism and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mountain Brook, Al for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara Helen Robison; mother Marianne Augusta Purchas, his father ,Charles Leslie Robison, son John Arthur Robison and daughter Barbara Gail Robison. He is survived by his two daughters Jeanne Robison Ballard and husband Earl Ballard of Hot Springs Village AR; and Janice Robison of Los Angeles CA three grandsons and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 9 AM until service time at 10 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
