Worked with Johnny at BellSouth.  He was a fine man and was always  such a nice guy.  He could always be depended on.  I'm sure his family will miss him terribly.  I remember that he had a great personality and was always smiling.  My deepest sympathies to his family.  

Sandra, please know you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. May Jehovah Shalom , the Lord of Peace, grant you peace that surpasses all understanding and comfort you in the late night hours. 

Sad to hear of Johnny’s passing. We both worked at Bellsouth. He was a very nice man. Met him more than 30 years ago. He called my office about 5 years ago looking to help one of his guys. Always helping and looking out for others. Rest In Peace Johnny. 

The McCollum family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I’ll always remember Johnny’s sweet spirit. May his legacy and memories live on forever. Love you guys…

Ashley K. Starks-Upshaw and family 

Johnny was a super-fine and loving Christian fellow and friend, and probably the best and most articulate lay-preacher that I ever heard. He would preach occasionally when called upon at the Roebuck Parkway church of Christ, and for our prison ministry at St. Clair. It was always a Bible-centered and uplifting message.

Occasionally, I would see Johnny in the halls of the AT&T Data Center where we both worked. We would always stop and spend a few minutes catching up. I've missed that since retiring, but someday we will resume that enjoyable practice.

Robin and I send our sincere condolences to Sandra, Kourtney, Kimberly, Ashley, and Travis. And we pray that you will remember 2 Cor. 1:3-4, because GOD is the Father of Mercies and GOD of all comfort.
