Jon Stanley Gulledge, born September 2, 1962, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2015. He was 52 1/2 years old. He was proceeded in death by his father, Capt. Robert Stanley Gulledge III and his nephew "Little John" Colin. He is survived by his mother, Jo Anne Gulledge; brothers, Ken and Dan Gulledge; and sisters, Maribeth Thomas and Debi Blaising; nephews and nieces Brian Colin, Amanda Gulledge, Jake Thomas, Anna Thomas, Emily (Blaising) Kuhn, Garrett Blaising, Nick Blaising, Brandon Blaising, Sarah Gulledge, Emma Gulledge, and Christopher Gulledge. Three of Jon's greatest joys in life were cheering for Alabama football; loving on Domino, his spoiled rotten cat; and being the goofy Uncle Jon to all his nieces and nephews, his pride and joy. The family is grateful to Dr. Jim Johnson, UAB-MICU Green team of doctors and nurses, Dr. John Holcomb and the Palliative Care team for their excellent and compassionate care. A family graveside service will be followed by visitation at the home of Debi Blaising from 6:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association in Jon's name.
