Joseph Nelson Consola, Jr. was born in Birmingham, AL on July 19, 1946. He died at the age of 78 in Sevierville, TN on January 2, 2025. Joseph was pre-deceased by his parents, Joseph Consola, Sr. from Sicily Italy and Lucile Bordenca of Birmingham, AL. He is survived by his wife, Darlene French of Sevierville, TN, his brother Donald Consola from Birmingham, AL, and his 5 children: Joseph Consola III and Michael Stokes from his first marriage with Linda Faye Parker as well as Virginia Morgan, Anna Consola, and Sarah Welch thru his second marriage with Ida “Rickie” Carter.
Joseph was a native of Birmingham, AL, where he devotedly cheered for his alma mater, the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. A lifelong salesman by trade, he was known to be the life of party and a fantastic story-teller by all friends and family. In his spare time, he enjoyed feeding everyone he knew with his traditional Italian cooking and was unbeatable at trivia.
A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2pm. Please arrive at Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave., Birmingham, AL 35211 by 1:40 pm to process to the graveside. If there is inclement weather, all services will be held at Elmwood Chapel in the Maple Room at 2pm.
