
CUSIMANO, JOSEPHINE GRAFFEO (AUNT JO) Age 88, of Birmingham, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012. Mrs. Cusimano was born in Birmingham on April 17, 1924 to the late Louis and Pauline Graffeo. She retired from Greyhound Bus Lines after 43 years of service. Josephine was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and then Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She was a committed adorer at the Chapel of Our Savior for many years. She was involved in all aspects of Church activities including VIP, Altar Sodality, 55 Plus and Italian-American Club. Josephine was a devoted and active volunteer at the Catholic Center of Concern in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard C. Cusimano; infant son, Gerard Cusimano; and sisters, Louise G. Pitts, Virginia G. Roberta, Lena G. Harrell and brother John V. Graffeo. Josephine is survived by her son, Christopher Frank Cusimano, daughter in law, Anita Holmes Cusimano, grandsons, Christopher James and Christian Gerard Cusimano and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved all of her family and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. presided over by Monsignor Martin Mueller. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father James Booth presiding.
