Juanita Joan Ferguson Schropp

SCHROPP, JUANITA J. FERGUSON, age 94, of Birmingham, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Schropp, sons, Steven Alan Schropp and David Michael Schropp; brothers, Richard M. Ferguson and Robert W. Ferguson and sister Lola Jean Ferguson Overby. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Marie Dibble (Ron); son, Mark E. Schropp (Libby), grandchildren, Frank Alan Schropp, Rachael Danielle Dibble, Hannah Ruth Haesler (Emanuel), Morgan S. Schropp-Warren (Josh), Kevin Michael Lovoy and Cathryn Marie Wolanek (Caleb); great-grandchildren, Lucas Haesler and Harper Schropp-Warren, Haley Haelser, and Emily Haesler.

Juanita, born in Seattle, Washington, met her husband, Charles Schropp and was married August 8, 1948. During World War II, Juanita worked at Boeing Aircraft Company along with her mother while her father and a brother were serving in the military. While raising three children she and her husband moved several times around the country following his career, settling in Birmingham in 1974. She and her husband loved travelling around the country and celebrated 65 years of marriage before Charlie passed. Throughout all her years she met life head on and continued to challenge herself, meeting trials with determination and joy. Her love for the Lord was evident in everything she did, touching many people’s lives.

A visitation for Juanita will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mountain Chapel Methodist Church, 2541 Rocky Ridge Rd, Birmingham, AL 35243, followed by a memorial service beginning at 12:00 PM.
