

She graduated from Mirabeau Lamar High School and then from the University of St. Thomas in Houston before moving to Birmingham.
Judy taught at Berry High School as a senior high English and Latin teacher while continuing her education and obtaining her Masters Degree from Birmingham Southern. When Hoover High School was opened, she continued to teach English and Latin I, 2 and 3. She was also the first president of the new Hoover AEA.
Judy loved to travel and spent 3 months studying abroad while living in Rome, Italy. In addition to traveling, especially with her family several times a year, Judy loved to play bridge. She traveled all over the Southeast playing in bridge tournaments and spent the last several years as a master player of duplicate bridge.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents Earl T. Chase and Jeanne G. Chase and her favorite Aunt Estella and Uncle Carl Grisham of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. She is survived by her brother Terry (Jean) Chase.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 10:00am-11:00am at Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW Birmingham, AL 35211 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
