

Judy Laine Cook, age 84 of Center Point, AL passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on June 10, 2026. She was born on August 7, 1941 to Conrad and Myrtle Hester. She was a native of Sheffield, AL and grew up in Muscle Shoals, AL.
She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1958 and married her husband, Larry Dean Cook in 1959; in 1960 her and her husband moved to Birmingham, AL where her and Larry raised their children.
She was a former member of Center Point First Baptist. She enjoyed watching the Miss America Beauty Pageants, NASCAR, Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball. She would never turn down a game of Yahtzee, Dominos or Bingo.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Larry Dean Cook; her parents, and her two daughters, Myra Laine and Deanna Sweatman. She is survived by her sons, Marty and Kerry (Angela); a sister Mitzi Galloway; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Jenn), Jessica, Brittany (Stephen), Megan (Corey), Chase, Thomas and Jordan. A host of great grandchildren.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Saturday, June 13th with a visitation for friends and family held one hour prior to the service. A committal service will immediately follow the chapel service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Pinson on Buzbee Road. Corey Cooper is officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Sweatman, Chase Cook, Jax Sweatman, Sam Hall, Josh Nicholson and Thomas Stinson; Honorary Pallbearers will be Beau Nicholson and Eli Cooper.
