With hearts full of gratitude for a life richly lived and deeply loved, the family of Judy Lindsey Davies announces that she was called Home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 21, 2026. Appropriately, her Heavenly Father chose Father’s Day for her homecoming—a day that her family lovingly believes became the very best Father’s Day ever.
Born on October 14, 1945, Judy lived a life marked by unwavering faith, enduring love, joyful laughter, and wholehearted devotion to family and friends. A longtime resident of Odenville, Alabama, she touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and infectious spirit.
On June 5th, Judy and the love of her life, James "Jim" Edward Davies, celebrated 62 wonderful years of marriage. She often said that she "loved him more today than yesterday," a sentiment that perfectly reflected the deep and abiding love they shared throughout their remarkable journey together. Together, they built not only a beautiful family, but also successful businesses, working side by side through the years with determination, integrity, and mutual devotion.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Frances Lindsey, her daughter, Lou Davies Nixon, older brother, Jay Lindsey, "baby" brother, Clyde Lindsey, who went Home on June 4th. Her family finds comfort in imagining that Clyde joyfully went ahead to help lead the welcoming party with Jesus and the angels.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Jim; her daughter, Leigh Davies Hopfensperger and husband Chad; and her son, Dr. James "Jamey" Edward Davies, Jr. and wife Susan. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Laurel Morgan Creager, James "Jamie" Darrell Turner, Jr., Christopher Lee Turner, Lindsey Donnease Turner, Hunter Caroline Davies, and James "Tripp" Edward Davies III, and the treasured great-grandmother of nine. Nothing brought Judy greater joy than celebrating the accomplishments and milestones of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Judy was known for her joyful spirit and contagious laughter. She loved deeply, gave generously, and was always quick to help a friend in need. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, and many who entered it were blessed by her extraordinary cooking. Family and friends will forever remember her legendary cornbread and beloved okra patties, made with love and shared with joy.
A devoted Christian, Judy possessed a deep knowledge of Scripture and an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She faithfully taught children's Sunday School and raised her children to know and love the Lord. Her faith was not simply something she professed—it was evident in the way she lived, loved, served, and cared for others.
Judy was also an enthusiastic and devoted Alabama football fan. Saturdays in the fall were a special time, and she proudly cheered on the Crimson Tide with the same passion and enthusiasm she brought to every part of her life.
Though her family grieves the loss of her physical presence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and in knowing that she is now whole, healed, and in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, laughter, generosity, and steadfast devotion to family will continue to bless generations to come.
The family will celebrate her life with visitation on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Her service will be at the chapel on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Judy's life and memory (https://raiseyourway.donordrive.com/campaign/Judy-Davies-Memorial).
