Judy Scott Langston

(March 11, 1954 – June 22, 2014)

Judy Scott Langston, 60, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and grandmother was called home by the Lord on June 22, 2014. She was a life-long resident of Birmingham, AL.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Scott and is survived by her father Harold Scott, both of Alabaster. Judy is also survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Larry Langston, Birmingham; son Scott Langston (Angela), Gardendale; daughter Lisa Langston, Birmingham and two grandchildren Brooks and Grayson Langston. She is also survived by her sister, Gay Lawson (Bob), Douglasville, GA; niece Ashlie Brooks (Andrew), Kennesaw, GA; a great niece Lawson Brooks and a great nephew Drew Brooks. She was loved deeply by her aunt Joyce Runyan of Huntsville.

Judy was a graduate of Erwin High School and went on to pursue and graduate from Auburn University with a degree in Accounting. During her time at Auburn she met the love of her life, Larry, and from there they started their lives together. As a mother she was dedicated to all the activities that Scott and Lisa were a part of. From the baseball park to the football field, then to the dance competition and cheerleading events, she never missed a practice, performance or a game.

When she wasn’t running wide open she loved spending time camping, boating, and relaxing in the hammock with a good book in hand and a box fan at her feet. While at the lake she prided herself with her ability to teach Ashlie, Scott, Lisa and Brooks all how to water ski and love it. With her first born grandson Brooks, Judy was at all baseball, football and basketball events just like she was with her children.

She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014; at Ridouts Trussville Chapel from 5:30-7:30pm, with the funeral service held Wednesday, June 25, 2014; at Ridouts at 11:00am, along with a graveside service at Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation.
