Julie Burke McCain, 69, of Birmingham, Alabama, entered into the eternal embrace of Jesus Christ on Tuesday September 15, 2026. Born September 17, 1956, she faithfully served the Lord and welcomed all she met as her own. Julie was a devoted teacher for gifted students for 9 years before transitioning to a loving stay at home mother. She directed theater shows and cultivated lavish gardens. Julie was a pillar of strength to her family, giving in radically selfless ways by the powerful love of Christ in her. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Walter B. McCain Jr. She is also survived by her five children: Jonathan McCain, Hudson McCain (Angela), Andrew McCain, Austin McCain, and Tori Davis (Michael), as well as grand “daughter” Ruthie, who she raised from age 1 and 10 other grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Avery. Visitation will be held September 21st at 5:30 pm for family and 6:00 pm for friends at Riverchase Community Church. Service will follow at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers her family requests donations be made to Riverchase Community Church.
