Karen Smith Glass, 60, of Trussville died on February 17, 2022. She spent 26 years married to the love of her life, Mike Glass. Together, they raised four children, Beth Clayton Pierce (Kyle), Andrew Glass (Amy), Evelyn Canterberry (Tony), and Mary Beth Holt (Mason). If you knew Karen, you know she talked endlessly about, well, everything. But she was always eager to talk of her passions: her love for her family, her friends, and her work as a hairdresser since the age of 16 and later a salon owner at 26 Dexter Hair and Nail Salon—and she was looking forward to her next life passion: being a grandmother to Kaitlyn McArtor Holt and Caroline Faye Pierce. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Carolyn Smith, her brother Chip Smith, and her sister Connie Smith. Karen had a tenacity and spirit that will not be easily forgotten by anyone who had the joy of knowing her. Please join her family in celebrating her life and spirit on Feb. 22 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Otey’s Tavern in Crestline Village. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital or a charity of your choice.
