Katie Irene Stevens, a resident of East Glen Nursing Facility and patient of Optum Hospice, died August 10, 2014. Katie enjoyed a well lived life of 93 years. She was born April 27, 1921; the youngest of nine children born to Irvan and Sarah (Sallie) Sullivan of Riverside, AL. Katie was preceded in death by Woodrow W. Stevens, her husband and sweetheart of 54 years. They were life members of the Alabama White Shrine #5 and the order of the Eastern Star; Sadie Deere Chapter. Katie was a beautician over 40 years and a member of Palmerdale First Baptist Church. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, faithful friends, and her church family. Graveside services will be at Elmwood Cemetery Tuesday, August 12th at 2:00 PM with Brothers Richard Statham and Bill Parker presiding.
