Kay Tidwell

Kay Tidwell, age 72 and lifelong resident of Birmingham, AL passed away on March 24, 2026. She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School. She was heavily involved in the Pinson Valley Youth Association and spent most of her days managing and operating at Tire Outlet in Pinson, AL.

Kay was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending as much time with family as possible and visiting Panama City Beach.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Odell Barber and father, Frank Barber; her sister, Gail Barber; her brother, Bronson Barber.

Kay is survived by her children, Sherry Tidwell and Scott Tidwell (Shalee); her four grandchildren, Meagan Dudley, Makenna Rickman (Brandon), Madison Dodson (Colby), and Ivy Tidwell; two great grandchildren, Austin Rickman and Mary Claire Dodson; her niece Renee Swann (Mike); two nephews, Jamie Bittles and BJ Nix, and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service for Kay will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Tuesday, March 31st at 3:00 p.m. Friends and family will gather one hour prior.
