September 25, 1927 - October 10, 2014.
Mr. Faught was born to Ulysses S. Faught and Tiny Grace Faught and was the youngest of ten siblings.
Mr Faught attended Lupton School, and at the age of 15 moved with a friend to Toledo, OH to begin his working career. Mr. Faught joined the US Merchant Marine on his 18th birthday and in 1946 joined the US Army, also serving in the Air Force, and flew hurricane storm information gathering flights during his military service.
In 1957 Mr Faught opened Faught Realty in the East Lake area, beginning a 57 year real estate career and business that has remained in operation to this day. Through his business and passion for real estate and working to help others, Mr. Faught helped several thousand purchase homes during his lifetime.
With a desire to provide a meeting place for his extended family, and to also provide a place for his church and other churches to use, he built "the camp" in the 1960's near Nauvoo AL on the Black Warrior Creek and also refurbished an 1830's era grist mill. FBCP and a number of other churches used the camp for youth camps from the mid 1960's to the mid 1970's. Erwin High School's football team also used the camp at the beginning of several football seasons.
Mr Faught was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings, and is survived by his four sons and their wives: Ken, Jr. (Arrice); Kevin (Julie); Kyle (Leighanne); Kip ( Angela), nine grandchildren, Ryan, Wesley (Jamie), Bethany, Chelsea, Josh (Gayle), Reaghan, Zach, Kayla, and Matthew, sister in law, Naomi Faught, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Faught is survived by special friend Patria Ochinang. He also leaves behind numbers of friends, and employees that worked and laughed with Mr. Faught through the years.
Mr Faught claimed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of Upper Room Baptist Church in Irondale, AL for the latter years of his life.
Sincere thanks and appreciation are extended to Oasis Hospice for the compassionate care given during the final months of Mr. Faught's illness. Visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday October 14, 2014 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, with the funeral to be held at 11am Wednesday October 15th at Upper Room Baptist Church, with burial and graveside service at the family plot at Liberty Grove Baptist in Nauvoo, AL.
