LaVergne Ineta Reichel Wagoner Parr, age 98, born on July 23, 1923 passed away on September 10, 2021 in Columbia, TN. She is preceded in death by her first husband of less than one year, Bob Wagoner (WWII) and her husband of 64 years Milton Eugene Parr and son Ronald Eugene Parr (Viet Nam). Survived by daughter Carolyn Diane Parr of Columbia, TN and son Wayne Alan Parr (Vicki) of Franklin, TN. She is also survived by grandchildren Joanne Miner of Duluth, GA, Wayne Alan Parr, Jr. (Erika) of Memphis, TN, Teresa Cathleen Parr of Nashville, TN, Zachary Philip Parr (Taylor) of Spring Hill, TN and great grandchildren, Anthony, Elena, and Sophia Mauricio. Born near Bison, Kansas to George and Lydia Reichel one of 7 children. She is also survived by sisters Martha (Martie) Dial of Prescott, AZ and Darlene Fratt of Houston, TX and many nieces and nephews.
She retired from UAB Medical Center in 1986. She was active in her churches and their organizations; Lake Highlands United Methodist, St. John’s United Methodist, and Epworth United Methodist. She was active in the Business and Professional Women’s organization for many years and served a term as President. She was recognized as a Double Gold Star Wife and Mother, having lost her first husband in World War II and her oldest son in Viet Nam. She loved to play all types of games, travel, read, and spend time with her family. She was truly a woman of many interests and talents and tried to never stop learning.
Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 PM on Thursday September 16th with funeral service at 1:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in the Garden of Prayer in Birmingham.
