Patrice was always a fun, outgoing person.  We first met when we were about 5 or 6 years old.  Her Dad owned a furniture store and was a distant cousin of my Dad's aunt.  One day when we were very young, Patrice was there at the store, I got to meet her and instantly liked her.  Years later, our family moved to East Lake and started attending East Lake United Methodist Church.  In Sunday School, there she was and I immediately sat down next to her!  Patrice had a great personality and we loved to talk but she went to a different elementary school so I only saw her on Sundays, until high school rolled around.  There, we were instant friends.  She introduced me to Terri Chaney Merren, Sheri Speer Parker, Kim McDanal North and all sorts of people.  She was so outgoing and made friends easily.  She took me to Cascade Plunge swimming pool, as a guest.  I had so much fun that I became a member.  We would hang out at the Chaneys' house after swimming, and had a blast.    We would spend the night and the three of us would take joyrides in our parents' cars late at night.  Those were such joyous days!  Patrice was so much fun!  
She helped me get into Triads Sorority.  I was selected in front of her house.  That little one told me we had to go by her house to pick something up that she had forgotten.  When we got there, there stood most of the sorority in the street, waiting for us!  Patrice was always a good friend in high school.  After graduation, she got married and moved to Texas.  We stayed in contact and she was always a delight to talk to  so positive and fun!  
I cried when I heard about her passing.  I know she is resting well, waiting for Jesus to come back.  She will always be remembered with love.  Rest in peace, sweet Patrice.  I love you and always will.  You will be missed by so many who cared about you  especially me.

I will Miss You Sweet Patrice.We have been classmates for many years. Your smile brightened many a day during our Elementary School and High School years. I will miss You & your fb posts very much. I find comfort knowing that you are in a much better place now.

Patrice always had that smile. My fondest memories are at Cascade Plunge and riding around Shadywood in the van looking for something to get into. I would always tell her she looked good in that light blue bikini and she would smile and softly tell me I was crazy. Love you Patrice. I hope to see you in heaven one day so you can brighten my day. We really never knew each other but I knew your Mom-we worked together at the Birmingham News in the 60's and 70's-until she retired. She and I had some of the greatest times in my life-she was wonderful-but don't make her mad! After George Seibels was re-elected in a landslide my picture was on the front page with George and his wife. I was waiting for her to come in the office with a copy-when she did she walked quickly past me and said "Don't talk to me!" Rest in peace my dear. A friend of Moms, Wayne Reed.

Sadly, I have not had any contact with Patrice since graduation except for our recent Facebook friendship; however, from the posts I got from her, it did appear that Patrice felt very strongly and passionately about animal rights.

Whenever I think of Patrice, I always remember when she burned her hair with her curling iron. It was right where she parted her hair, and after the hair burned away, she had this super wide part. It didn't faze her one bit; she just laughed about it and went on.
I always remember her kindness. It didn't matter if you were the most popular person or the least, Patrice was always friendly and kind to others. 
I only had a few Facebook conversations with her, but I will miss her posts and comments.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family and all who loved her.

 Patrice's family and my family have decades of history. Her mother's maiden name was Melba Robinette and she and her family were childhood friends with my dad and his two sisters. Her uncle Don was my dads best friend until he passed away and her cousin Mitzi is my cousin Sandra's best friend. Such a small world

I was intrigued by the fact that she was so spunky, would speak her mind and didn't give a care what anybody else thought!
