

Lenora D. Sisson was raised in her parents’ home on Avenue I and graduated from Ensley High School. After completing her education, she began a long and dedicated career with Deaton Truck Lines in Birmingham, where she worked for over 20 years in various office positions and responsibilities.
A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Mount Olive, Lenora lived a life of faith and service. She was exceptionally skilled in sewing and textile arts, creating beautiful curtains, children’s and doll clothes, embroidery, and crochet designs. Her handcrafted pieces were treasured gifts to friends and family.
Lenora loved traveling with her husband, John Sisson, and their family in their camper van, exploring the South, Midwest, and Northern states. In later years, she discovered a passion for painting scenic designs with acrylics through a local art class. Her creativity and generosity extended to her community, where she contributed countless hours preparing crocheted crosses for ministry outreach to foreign countries.
Lenora is survived by her loving family, sons, James Carmichael (Susan), Barry Carmichael (Suzy); niece, Susan Floyd (James; brother, George Douglas Drummond, Jr.; and nieces and nephew, Terry Lynn Lewis, Tammy & Brian Ball, Tracey Drummond, George D. Drummond III; grandchildren, Lindsay Bowman, Lauren Carmichael, Lacee Carmichael; niece, Mary Dee Conlee (Bill); Numerous great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on January 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery. Attendees are kindly asked to arrive at Elmwood Chapel by 1:45 PM to process to the cemetery.
Lenora will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the beauty she created.
