Linda Colburn faithfully served as Accountant and Administrative Manager for Kaufmann & Associates, Inc. for more than 37 years. Throughout her career, she worked with hundreds of manufacturers, suppliers, and valued customers in the promotional products industry. She expertly coordinated every stage of the order process—from entry to final commissions—but her true impact was in the lasting personal relationships she built.
Her quick wit, sharp intellect, and humble spirit endeared her to everyone she spoke with daily. To many, she was far more than a business contact; she was a trusted friend. With the advent of caller ID, Linda started a favorite office routine. Answering a call only to hear, "Is Linda there?", she would reply without missing a beat, "What has she done now?" or "What kind of trouble is she in?" After her unmistakable chuckle, she’d reassure them, "Everything's okay—you can just call me Crazy Linda."
Even on the busiest days, she fiercely cared for those around her, frequently calling across the office, "Don’t forget to eat lunch!"
Outside of work, Linda was an avid bowler and a longtime active member of her bowling league, serving as team secretary and treasurer for many years. Tuesday evenings always found Linda at the lanes, rolling her fair share of strikes and dishing out plenty of humor.
Her most active devotion was to Union Grove Methodist Church. Sundays always found her seated in her familiar spot, and she answered the church’s needs by serving as a Board member, secretary, and treasurer until her recent hospitalization.
Linda had an extraordinary gift for lifting spirits, acting much like a beloved radio disc jockey. Instead of music, her daily playlist consisted of encouragement, optimism, compassion, laughter, and an unwavering faith in God.
Like the Alabama song "Angels Among Us," Linda quietly touched lives and reflected God's love through simple acts of kindness every single day. Her laughter, servant's heart, and genuine love for people leave behind a legacy that will forever inspire all who were fortunate enough to be called her friend.
Linda was pre-deceased by her Father – Ralph Colburn and Mother – Janie Mae Colburn. She is survived by her cousins – Gene Lively and his children Jeremy and Ashley as well as Ashley’s two sons, Devon & Kayden.
Donations in Linda’s memory may be made to Union Grove Methodist Church.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday July 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery 600 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35211.
