Mae C. McDonald, 101, went to live with her heavenly Father on Thursday, September, 28, 2017. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Bill McDonald and daughter, Joyce McDonald Smith. She is survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie Shervington Lombardo (Wayne) and Skip Shervington (Mari). niece, Becky McDonough; 5 great grandchildren, Aubrie, Birdie, Jolie and Leo Lombardo and Nick Shervington and many other relatives and friends. Mae was a faithful member of Woodland Avenue Baptist Church, West End Baptist Church and First Baptist Alabaster. Mae loved flowers and gardening and was always happy when she had a book in her hand or was needle pointing. She attributed her long life to fresh vegetables and her daily devotional and love. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10 to 11am at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with graveside services following at 11am. Reception following graveside service at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Alabama Children's Home or First Baptist Alabaster.
