Malinda K. Porter, 67, of Birmingham, AL passed away on April 16, 2018. She was born on April 2, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York. Malinda was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in passing by her brother, Melvin King. She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Larry Porter; 3 children, Marlo Logan, Vinetta "Mia" Logan, and Marcus Ford; a sister, Marian Harris; 28 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Malinda loved attending church and was a very active and respected member of The Worship Center Christian Church. She was social, had a memorable smile and a magnetic personality. Malinda served her country in the United States Army, which brought her to Alabama where she remained. She worked many jobs throughout her lifetime, but most fondly owned and operated a daycare center. In her spare time, Malinda enjoyed caring for her many plants and creating greeting cards. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
