Manciel C. Adair, age 82 of Birmingham, AL went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2013. He was a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, a member of Clearview Baptist Church in Pinson, AL. He retired from Spartan Food Systems where he served as a Regional Leader for Quincy’s Steak Houses. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, and a Mason. He was born in Spartanburg County South Carolina to the Late, Manciel C. and Ruby Fowler Adair. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bennie Adair; sister, Vicki Phillips. Manciel is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan Adair; son, Rick (Louisa) Adair; daughters, Rhonda (Mike) Campbell and Lana (Chris) Sharit; grandchildren, Dustin and Travis Adair, Leigh Anne (Michael) King, Jeffrey Campbell, Christopher, Austin, and Brock Sharit; great grandson, Grayson King. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Funeral service Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11 AM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

We were neighbors in Cowpens, Mrs. Adair would take me to watch Manciel play baseball, I was about eight or nine years old, He was a good ball player.
