Margaret Christian, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, peacefully departed from this world on October 16, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on June 20, 1934 in Birmingham, Alabama, to Homer and Nadine Love. Margaret lived a full and blessed life, touching the hearts of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
Margaret was a proud graduate of Woodlawn High School, where she began to form the lifelong friendships and values that would define her life. It was in Birmingham that she met the love of her life, Luther "Buddy" Christian, with whom she shared an extraordinary 67 years of marriage. Together, they created a family filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Margaret and Luther raised two children, Rick and Judy, instilling in them the same values and compassion that guided their own lives.
Her professional life included endeavors at Avis Car Rental and Kohl's department store, where she was known not only for her strong work ethic, but also for the genuine care she showed to colleagues and customers alike. Beyond her career, Margaret was an active and devoted member of Eastside Baptist Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and she expressed it with grace and humility. She also found great joy in playing Bridge, a past time that allowed her to connect with friends and engage in spirited friendly competition.
Margaret was predeceased by several other family members: her brother William Love; her sister Mary Charles Trawick; her son Charles "Rick" Christian; her grandson Stephen Christian; and her devoted husband Luther Christian. Despite these profound losses, Margaret's heart remained open, and she continued to find joy and purpose in the lives of her surviving family members.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Judy Christian, and her grandchildren, Matthew Christian, Erin Ray, and Kathryn Christian, who were the light of her life. Her legacy also lives on through her great grandchildren: Dylan, Donovan, Kyla, Jamy, Lucas, Seth, Emma, and Anna Ray, and great-great grandchild Isley Ray. Margaret is also survived by her sister, Brenda Love, whose bond with her was a source of strength and joy.
Margaret Christian's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the power of family. She leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
