Margaret S. Craig

Margaret (78) passed away October 4, 2016. She was born January 1, 1938 in Powderly, AL to Howard Everett Sykes and Grace Josephine Roper Sykes. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, brothers Howard, James, Pete, Henry and William; sisters Elizabeth and Mary Jean ; son Eric; and son-in-law William H. Frazier; and survived by husband, James Terry Craig, Jr. of 51 years; daughters Jennifer Craig Baxley (Jim) of Hoover, AL and Susan Craig Frazier of Vestavia Hills, AL; and granddaughters Mallory Rose Baxley, Meredith Baxley Porter (Matthew), Jamie Grace Baxley, Emily Margaret Frazier, and Erin Elizabeth Frazier; sister Marion Sue Jefferies; sister-in-law Faye Sykes; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Margaret graduated from Jones Valley High School where she was co-Head Cheerleader, Miss Jones Valley and Homecoming Queen. She was employed at U. S. Steel Corporation's Tennessee Coal & Iron Division in Fairfield, AL for 11 years. She worked 11 years at Brookwood Medical Center, Inc. in Homewood, AL where she rose to Corporate Secretary and Senior Vice President for Administrative Services. The family appreciates the great care and kindness of Craig Rich, MD; the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital, and the staff at SouthernCare Hospice Services. Visitation will begin at 2 pm, Friday, October 7, 2016, at Riverchase Baptist Church, 2020 Crossvine Drive, Hoover, AL followed by Memorial Service at 3 pm.
