They began their life together living in Nashville, Tennessee, which was the first of many moves for them while Lewis worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. January 11, 1953, Margaret Cecile Hubbard was born to the couple, and two years later, a second daughter, Pamela Jane Hubbard, was born to complete their family. Margaret and Lewis were always active in a Southern Baptist Church with every move to cities such as Huntsville, AL, Memphis, TN, Opelika, AL, Hartford, CT, Savannah, GA, Knoxville, TN, New Orleans, LA., and Birmingham, AL. Margaret was a loving, active mother to Cile and Pam, while being involved with the National Federation of Republican Women, Freedom Foundation, Newcomers Bridge, Duplicate Bridge, Hoover Gourmet Club, Hoover Historical Society, teaching youth Sunday School and Training Union, serving in officer positions in Women's Missionary Union, making visits as a member of the Homebound ministry, and The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, serving as a bell ringer during the holidays, and a tutor at Simmons Middle School in Hoover. She has been an active member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church for over 56 years.
