Margaret Jones

JONES, MARGARET V. MEADS "BUMPY" age 87, was born November 16, 1923 in Birmingham, AL, with her family by her bedside, she went home peacefully to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on January 15, 2011. Margaret, who was known as "Bumpy" to her grandchildren and many friends, will be deeply missed. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt; a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; and a friend to anyone that she met. Margaret was a member of the 1st graduating class of Jefferson-Hillman Nursing School of 1945. She served as a nurse at East End Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a devote Christian and firm believer in her faith and devoted prayer warrior. Bumpy was a true believer in the power of prayer and diligently prayed for her family and friends. As a former member of 85th Baptist Church and a current member of Huffman Baptist Church, she enjoyed her involvement with the church, especially Sunday school class and loved all the members dearly. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Zuma Meads, husband, John Russell Jones, Sr. and her son, John Russell Jones, Jr. She leaves behind a great legacy of family, a daughter, Mary Ann Eubank (Eddie) and a son, Billy Jones (Kathleen); grandchildren, Brian Jones (Kristie), Alicia Ramey (Alan), Casey Jones (Sarah), Will Jones (Amber), Justin Jones (Ashley), Garrick Jones, Lesley Russ (Chandler), Caitlin Jones and Kari Eubank; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Kelsey, Lane, Victoria, Caleb, Isabella, Ava, Luciana, Ella, Ethan, Leytin and Caiden. Her family will receive friends on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel from 5-7 PM. Her service will be at the chapel on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 beginning at 10 AM burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
