Margaret Adamson Kirton

Margaret Kirton, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Margaret lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering love for those around her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Kirton; her parents, Paul Adamson, Sr. and Ruth Adamson; and her brother, Paul Adamson, Jr.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children, Sherry Jones (Jeff) and Mike Kirton (Tracy); her grandchildren, Cason Jones (Allie), Brannon Jones (Emily), Amber Bartholomew (Chris), and Taylor Wellborn (Rachel); six great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.

Margaret found joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved to dance, sing the old hymns that brought comfort to her soul, and spend time with the family she adored. She possessed a truly kind heart and was always concerned for the well-being of others.

Above all else, Margaret was a loving Christian wife and mother. Her warmth, faith, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Johns-Ridout's Elmwood Chapel. A celebration of Margaret's life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Charles, at Elmwood Cemetery.
