Margaret Flemming Selman passed away of natural causes on Monday evening, September 16th, 2013 in Birmingham at the home where she was born on October 11th, 1920. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Selman; son, Charles J. Selman; daughters, MaryAnn Selman and Kathy Selman Holmes (Clarence A. Holmes Sr.); father, Harry C. Flemming; mother, Pearl Horst Flemming; brothers Charles, Harry, and Jack; and sisters, Pearl, Susie, Ann and O’Dee., all of whom have been waiting to receive her with open arms. She is survived by two daughters, Becky S. Gantous (Phillip) of Pinson, Al and Deborah S. Visintainer (Bill) of Vestavia Hills, Al.; grandchildren, Tracy Ann Carpenter (Michael), Theresa Burk (Jimmy), Charles J. Selman Jr (Desiree)., Stacey Stewart (Rob), Ben Holmes, April Pitts (Paul), Margie Visintainer, Haley Visintainer; 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews all of whom will both remember her fondly and miss her. Margaret was deeply devoted to her Faith, her Family and her community. Margaret raised her family in the Church and was a long-time member of St. Paul Cathedral. Funeral Services will be held at 11A.M. Friday September 20th, 2013 at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
