Marguerite Evelyn Jones, age 89, of Birmingham transitioned to her eternal home Thursday, November 16, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Percy Johns and Marguerite Evelyn Johns; her brother P. D. (Big Brother) Johns; and sister-in-law Frances Griffis Johns. Marguerite is survived by her children Jeannie Lu Jones and Jon Gregory Jones; nephews Richard Johns (Melanie), Steven Johns (Susan), Alan Johns (Beth); and niece Judy Johns Powell. She was a lifelong Presbyterian including memberships at 76th Street Presbyterian Church, Avondale Presbyterian Church and South Highland Presbyterian Church. She was also a very active in the Alabama Federation of Women's Clubs and was a chaperone for the Miss Alabama Pageant Organization. There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel at South Highland Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Presbyterian Home for Children, 905 Gertrude Michaels Drive, Talladega AL 35160.
