G-Mother, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in the loving arms of her family in The Woodlands, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father Nicholas S. Marino, her mother Annie Romano Marino and her brother, Bernard J. Marino. She is survived by one brother, Salvador N. Marino of Birmingham, Al; by a son, Phillip Bakane Jr. of Springville, AL, three daughters, Delores Klobuchar of Birmingham, AL, Marcia Bakane of Hoover, AL and Renee Scott of The Woodlands, TX; ten grandchildren (Norman, Tanya, Steven, Nicole, Ashley, Haley, Reagan, Andrea, Lauren and Phillip Michael) and six great grandchildren (Jade, Amber, Rocco, Avery, Ian and Aleiah). Despite her love of opera, dancing and decorating, Marian was called to serve as a wife and mother. She loved to cook, entertain, sing, dance and decorate. She especially loved all Holidays, was extremely talented in the areas of music, decorating and crafts and was even known to be somewhat of a prankster; all traits lovingly passed on to many of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her final days she told us that she saw and spoke with her family who was waiting in Heaven to be reunited with her and she emphatically knew she was going to Heaven. All of these revelations serve to remind us how forgiving, loving, merciful and great is our God. She unknowingly touched so many lives in those final days and the stories and lessons she shared will be forever treasured and she will be forever remembered in our hearts and loved. The family will celebrate her life on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Johns-Ridout’s Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, (205) 251-7227, 800 Dennison Ave. SW, Birmingham, AL 35211.
