ALLEN, MARILYN, age 73 of Irondale, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Rodgers “Harold” Allen; parents, Finis and Zelder Mae Calhoun; and sister, Mary Lou Vandiver. She is survived by her sons, Harold Allen and Timmy Allen; grandsons, Drennen Allen and Drake Allen; sisters, Frances Kennedy, Maudine Booth and Elizabeth Sutton; brothers, Alfred Calhoun, Norman Calhoun, Cyrus Calhoun, J. W. Calhoun and Finis Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a longtime member of Overton Road Family Church and enjoyed spending time at the Irondale Senior Citizens Center. She was kind and loving to everyone and never met a stranger. Her family will receive friends on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 10-12 at Overton Road Family Church with her service beginning at 12.
