HARRIS, MARION ROCKETT 77, passed away on October 7, 2012, after a long hospitalization. Ms. Harris was a 1952 graduate of Phillips High School and a graduate of Alabama's nursing school. She was a devoted nurse for many years in the Anniston and Chattanooga areas. Ms. Harris spent her final years in Vestavia surrounded by her grandchildren and her friends at Liberty Park Baptist Church. Ms. Harris was predeceased by her husband James Harris, her daughter Sherri Lynn Smith, her son James Douglas Harris, and her brother Bruce Rockett. She is survived by her five grandchildren: James Barnes, Keri Bates, Russell Harris, Allison Harris, and Thomas O'Brien Smith, Jr. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 11th from 5-7 PM at Ridouts Trussville Chapel. Funeral services will follow Friday morning October 12th at 10 AM. Ms. Harris requested in lieu of flowers that her loved ones make donations in her memory to Friends of Winnataska, Inc. P.O.
