Marjorie Swenson

Swenson, Marjorie Carol, age 88, of Birmingham, Al passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 surrounded by love with her family at her side. She was born on March 23, 1923 to Cleo and Edith Arnold in Bluffton, Indiana. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Hardy C. Swenson, Sr. and her granddaughter Sonya Swenson Welch. She is survived by two sisters, Charlene Farling of Corpus Christie, Texas and Alice Bertsch of Bluffton, Indiana; her loving children, son, Hardy C. “Chip” Swenson, Jr. (Sue), daughter, Haleda S. “Dodie” Robinson, and son, Halbert C. “Chris” Swenson (Janice); her grandchildren, Joey and Jonathan Swenson, Kristin Robinson Boggs (Brandon), Kyle Robinson and Hal, Ross and Luke Swenson.; Great grandchildren, Joseph and Alex Swenson, and Harper Boggs.

She was retired from First National Bank (AmSouth) in Irondale, Al and was a member of Five Mile Presbyterian Church.Marjorie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and most of all spending time with her family. At the time of her death she was a resident of Mt. Royal Towers in Birmingham,Al.

Visitation will be Sunday night, March 18, 2012 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 5 until 7 PM. Graveside services will be Monday at 10 AM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family requests donations and memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090-6011.
