Martha Ann Kirk Black of Springville, AL was born February 7, 1947 and passed away on June 12,2025. She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Wayne Black, her brother, Jimmy Kirk, her parents, Oliver Kirk and Lera Grace Kirk, and countless, cherished dogs and cats. Martha Ann is survived by her sons, Ben Black (Marcy) and Lee Black (Ansley), grandchildren Andrew Kirk Black, William Patrick Black, sister-in-law, Donna Carol Black, and her dogs, Molly, Jethro, and Tucker. 

Martha Ann graduated from     High School in 1965, and she attended Troy State University, where she obtained degrees in Chemistry, Math, and Biology. She met her husband, Ronnie, after she graduated. Mrs. Black was an active member in the Evergreen Presbyterian Church and spent countless hours working to support Lee and Ben in their Boy Scout activities and accomplishments, as well as other volunteer work in Dothan, AL. 

In 1995, Martha Black moved to the Springville, AL area, and she loved her work at the UAB Children’s Hospital as a micro-biologist for close to 14 years. She will be remembered as a nurturer to all, but especially to animals, children, and the elderly. She also was an involved member of the First Presbyterian Church of Springville, AL, the Springville Library, and other organizations.
