Martha Evelyn Cefalu

CEFALU, MARTHA EVELYN RICHARDSON, age 95 passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 in Huntsville. She was born in Birmingham and grew up with the hardships of the Great Depression, but that made her a person of strong character and with a great appreciation of the better times in life. Evelyn married R.J. Cefalu in 1942. She helped her husband for many years in their grocery business, while raising their three children. After his death in 1996, she moved to Huntsville. Although her memory had greatly diminished the last several years of her life, oftentimes her wit and feistiness would break through, causing those around her to smile and laugh. She will be missed not only by her family, but by many of her daily caregivers whose lives she touched with her sweet smile and loving ways. She is survived by a son, John Robert Cefalu (Rosemarie) and two daughters, Mary Jane Tanner (Marshall) and Evelyn Hynds. Visitation will be 10-11 AM on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Trussville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
