Martha was the daughter of Walter and Martha (Boots) Schoel. Martha is survived by a brother, Walter Schoel, III, and nephews Walter Schoel, IV, Taylor Maxwell Schoel, Brooks Dawson Schoel, and niece Leah Jo Schoel. Martha was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where she lived her entire life. She graduated from Berry High School in 1971. Martha attended the University of Alabama and received her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design in 1977. Martha spent much of her working career at Walter Schoel Engineering Company, working as an assistant office manager. Martha spent many hours in community service. She was an active member of the Birmingham Symphony Volunteer Council and was past Co-Chairman of the Decorator’s Showhouse Committee. Martha was a long-term member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church. There will be a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery on Monday, October 29, at 10:00 AM. Memorials may be made to Vestavia Hills Baptist Church. The Schoel family would like to thank caregiver Deborah Williams for her help and support of Martha in her later years.
