Mary Bridges

December 24, 1923 – January 3, 2014

Mary Bridges of Birmingham, Alabama, age 90, passed away on Friday, January 3rd. Mrs. Bridges was born in Fairview, Alabama on December 24, 1923. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Chalkville and most recently a member of Baptist Church of the Covenant. She was a retired employee of Regions Bank. Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings, husband of 65 years Allen Kregg Bridges, son James Allen and son-in-law Wayne Thomason (Mary).

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean Thomason; grandchildren, Janet Thomason Goodwin (David) and Christopher Wayne Thomason; great granddaughter Katherine Laurel Goodwin and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at Baptist Church of the Covenant at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 with Rev. Sarah Jackson Shelton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Building Fund at Baptist Church of the Covenant.
