Mary Elizabeth Brocato

Mary Elizabeth Brocato, age 96, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Thursday April 2, 2020. Mary was born October 10, 1923. Mary Elizabeth Brocato was born on October 10, 1923. She died on April 2, 2020.

Ms. Brocato was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County Alabama. She lived for the past 60 plus years in the heart of Crestline. Early in her career she was a secreatary for Mr. Frances LaToddy in the Brown Marx building. Later she spent over 30 years as a secretary for the office of Chief Counsel Internal Revenue Service. Her brothers ran Brocato plumbing of Birmingham for many years.

She was predeceased by her sister Katherine Brocato and her brothers Sam, Joseph and Jimmy.

Mary was a great baker of coconut cakes. She was beloved by her co-workers. Mary was a great fan of her local libraries (downtown and the Mountain Brook branch).

Mary lived a long and full life. She was active until the last few years. Her neighbors, friends and co-workers will miss her.

A graveside service and burial for Mary Brocato will be held on Tuesday, April 7,2020 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery, 600 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. S.W., Birmingham, AL 35211.
