Oh my, Mary Jim, you were my dear, dear friend for the twelve years that I worked at Palm Bay. You were always there for me sharing a smile, a story and an enjoyment for the outdoor fine air appreciation group. I love you dearly and I wish we had kept more in touch than our yearly Christmas cards. My sincerest sympathies to you Teddy and to you Sandy. Mary Jim made a huge impact on my life and on the lives of her students, friends, and colleagues. She will be deeply missed.

Teddy,
We are so sorry to hear of Mary Jim's passing.  We were not aware of it until we received a telephone call from Johnny Jones earlier today.  If we had known, we would have been at the funeral.  You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers and we extend our deepest sympathy on your loss.

Teddy and family, I am sorry I never had the pleasure of meeting Mary Jim. She sounds like a wonderful person. We both graduated from Auburn in the same class, and I knew a couple of the Kappa Kappa Gamma's.
Your loss is felt deeply and I wish God Bless to you.

Teddy and family - I just now found out about Mary Jim from Sherry Best. It's been so many years since we've seen each other.  It's hard to believe that such a vivacious friend is gone.  I was just thinking that in another 3 years we would be celebrating our 50th class reunion. Wow. After graduating from Ashville in 1964, we, and I am talking about Mary Jim, Sherry, Camille, Peggy and myself all went our separate ways except for me and Sherry. I can't believe it has been that long since we have talked.  
It's hard to believe she is gone.  She was a smart, funny and  true friend.

I love Mary Jim Burttram, and, by association if nothing else, Teddy, Sandy, Davida, and Corey.  

She talked to me of the "old days" of teaching, and wearing white gloves to football games at Auburn because "That's what ladies did, back then." and spoke often of Sandy growing up, playing ball, and her endearing love for Teddy.  According to Mary Jim, Davida is the best hair and nail person on several continents!

We shared so much in the six-or-so years I knew her as my colleague at PBHS.  She brought me food for nearly two years, telling me I was too skinny!  We laughed, cried, complained, and extolled.  

Yes, I love Mary Jim Burttram.  I'll never have another "twin" quite like her!

Ted, Sandy and Mary Jim's family: My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.  Mary Jim was such a wonderful woman.  She and my now deceased Mother (Diann Reams), taught together at South West Jr. High and then the school became Palm Bay High School.  They literally were like two peas in a pod, when those two got to together, especially in the teachers lounge.  Mary Jim had a wonderful since of humor.  I remember, my ninth grade year I had Mary Jim for P.E. One day, I decided to not show up for class, and don't you know, she called me at home and told me to get my BUTT here or else she would tell my Mother on me.  Well, seeing that they worked together and plus a few other things she had said on the phone, put the fear of God in me, and I high-tailed it to P.E.  And wouldn't you know, I received an A in her class. I thank Mary Jim being there for me, when my Mother passed away 7 months ago. My Mother and I cherished Mary Jim's friendship. Mary Jim you will be missed, but not forgotten.  Again, my thoughts and prayers are with the Burttram's through this difficult time.

Our family had the pleasure of meeting Mary Jim and her family many years ago when we first moved to Melbourne. Our son played little league with Sandy, and Mary Jim always made us feel welcome in her home. Our condolences to Ted and her family; she was a wonderful lady!

I had the pleasure of having Mrs.Burttram for my 9th grade health teacher. My deepest condolence to the Burttram family She didn't take nothing off of us students. It was a good class. She will be greatly missed.
