She was born to the late Earl Leon Fricks and Anna Lou Brown Fricks on August 7, 1930. She was the third of three girls. She grew up in the West End of Birmingham, AL. She attended Fletcher Academy in North Carolina and then went on to South Missionary College where she met the love of her life, James Howard Butler. She worked hard to help his business of importing flowers to grow and flourish which later became Butler Imports and Importer’s Warehouse. They had two children- Peggy Jill Butler Bryan and James Jackson Butler.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Howard Butler.
She was always known for her great cooking abilities and always made sure everyone had plenty to eat. She was one of the original charter members of the Roebuck Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Jill Butler Bryan, son, James Jackson Butler (Candi),
Grandchildren- Victoria Butler Nafie (John), Rhett Jackson Butler (Rebecca) and two adorable great grand-daughters.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 12:00 at Trussville Ridout’s Funeral Home.
We longingly await the day of Jesus’ soon coming when we will be reunited forever! We are thankful she is peacefully sleeping in Jesus until that day.
