Mary Ellen Easter

Mary Ellen Easter, 93 , went home to be with the Lord March 30, 2023. She was born on September 28, 1929. She grew up in Mineral Springs, Al.,graduated from Minor High School and afterwards completed 2 years of business college.

She went on to work as an executive assistant and bookkeeper at many different companies . She enjoyed taking notes in short hand and was excellent in English grammar. Both daughters were grateful for her correction with high school and university papers.

It was a blessing to be able to drive home and have her type a paper [as she was so fast] and correct it. In fact, I wish she was here to correct this one.

She loved her family and was always kind with her words, and gentle in her demeanor. Mary Ellen and Barry were members of Gardendale !st Baptist, and members of Steelbillies Camping Club. She loved maps and plotting their camping adventures across the U.S.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband Barry, and is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Lamphere[Reid], Cindy Rogers, grandchildren Tiffany Lamphere, Jeremiah Lamphere[Shalomie], Lindsey Manly[Gray], Grant Rogers[Mary Scott] and great grandchildren Judah and James Lamphere.

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave Sw, Birmingham, AL 35211. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211.
