Aunt Mary Joe was my second mom. We talked on the phone weekly after my Mom Doris passed. I remember being shipped off to her house during summer break where Cousin Connie and Jean and I could get into all kinds of trouble. Fondest memory is "please, PLEASE, make us fudge." Mary Joe was always there for me, to discuss anything under the sun, to keep me up to date on all our extended family members, and more recently to laugh about getting old. She also chatted with my husband Chip to share gardening and food preserving ideas, or to request another mailing of his Mayhaw jelly. Favorite memories also include our multifamily vacation trips to Destin, Fl, where we sunbathed, stuffed ourselves on favorite recipes, and had fishing trips. I will never forget her smile or her laugh!
