Mary L Masters

MASTERS, MARY LOUISE BLAIR, age 88, of Springville, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012. She was born in Birmingham, AL on July 25, 1924. She graduated from Woodlawn High School and married her sweetheart Cecil C. Masters with whom she spent 54 years with until his death in 1996. She worked many years for Amerex Corporation in Trussville, AL. At age 65 she was so happy to get her driver’s license that she hugged and kissed the patrolman that gave her the test. Louise loved her church and was a faithful member and worked in many capacities as a Sunday School teacher and working with the youth at Corinth Baptist Church, Trussville, AL, Macedonia Baptist Church, Margaret, AL, and New Lebanon Baptist Church, Odenville, AL where she was a present member. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Cecil C. Masters; parents, Wilburn and Esther Glasgow Blair; and brother, Wilburn Burt Blair. She is survived by her children, Mary (Charles) Tubbs of McCalla and John (Sandra) Masters of Springville; grandchildren, Gary (Regina) Yager, Melissa Paulk, Gayla (Nick) Kuykendall, Brandon (Angel) Yager, Eric Masters, Amanda (Richie) Ault; step-grandchildren, Jeff Tubbs, Scott (Teresa) Tubbs, Christy (Kent) Rigdon; great grandchildren, Blair Saxon, Lucas and Elisabeth Kuykendall, Beyton Yager, Sheyanna and Chance Ault; step-great grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, Amanda Smith, Kandace and Conner Tubbs, Brandon and Kelsey Tubbs, Ryan, Garrett, and Matthew Rigdon; step-great-great grandchildren, J.D. and Hunter Taylor, and Caleb Smith. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 5-7 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Her service will be at the chapel on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 beginning at 10 AM with Rev. Gary Yager officiating. The pallbearers are Brandon and Beyton Yager, Nick and Lucas Kuykendall, Richie Ault and Charles Tubbs. Burial will follow at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church Cemetery.
