Mary B. Slay

August 14, 1921 – May 28, 2015

Mary Frances Baker Slay, age 93, passed away on May 28, 2015. She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School and an active member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was Church Secretary for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elsie Dunscomb Baker and her husband, S. J. Slay. She is survived by her son, Jim (Ginny) Slay, and two daughters, Cindy Tarrant and Diane (Terry) Newland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hudson (Sarah) Slay, Mary Virginia (John) Sweeney, Trey (Heather) Tarrant, Katie (Eric) Beckstrom, Martha (Bill) Wingate, and Jeff (Stacey) Tarrant and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Shades Valley Presbyterian Church, 2305 Montevallo Road from 3:00 – 5:00. Family graveside services will precede this at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery.
