Mary Sue Norton Bush

Mrs. Mary Sue Norton Bush, 95, passed away from this life to her heavenly home on July 9, 2021 at her residence. She was born February 15, 1926 and was married to Kenneth Eugene Bush on July 26, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel Draper Norton and Alice Gertrude Brock Norton and her husband, Kenneth Eugene Bush and both sisters Pauline (Polly) Norton Rorie and Jo Ann Norton Moore.

She is survived by her two sons: Kenneth Eugene Bush, Jr., (Michelle) and Joe Reid Bush (Lorna), six grandchildren: Jason Bush (Angie), Paige Bush Doss (Jerry), Candas Blackmon Calvert (Dustin), Jonathan Bush (Jessica), Joey Bush (Sarah), Jeremy Bush, eight great-grandchildren: Riley, Scott, Sadie, Tessa, Elise, Grady, Emmett, Keaton and several cousins.

She was a longtime member of Central Park United Methodist Church and Helena United Methodist Church. She was a member and Worthy Mathon of Mary Echols Chapter OES in 1970-1971, member of Theo Osborn Chapter OES, Past Grand Marshal and Director of Work of the Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, State of Alabama. Former member of the Order of Amaranth and the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 10:00am-11:00am in the chapel of Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW Birmingham, AL 35211 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Pastor John Bush will be officiating. John Ridout's Elmwood Chapel directing.
