February 13, 1943 – May 20, 2025
With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Maxine Arrington, who departed this life on May 20, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Blount County, Alabama, on February 13, 1943, Maxine lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. A devout Christian woman, she exemplified grace, humility, and a steadfast belief in the goodness of others. Her door was always open, and her heart even more so—she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, loved, and heard.
Maxine’s talents were many, and she shared them generously. As a gifted pianist, her fingers danced across the keys, bringing joy to countless worship services. As a seamstress, she wove love into every stitch, creating treasures for her family and friends. And in her garden, she nurtured life with the same care and patience she gave to everyone around her. Her hands were never idle, always creating, always giving.
Maxine is survived by her son, Michael Arrington, and his wife, Cilicia Arrington; her cherished grandchildren, Lacey Arrington, Michael Evan Arrington, and Jessie Wilson; their spouses, Haden Wilkerson and Lee Wilson, and her treasured great-grandchildren, Ally Glass, Emma Wilkerson, and she was counting down the days until she was able to meet the newest addition to the family, Wyatt Wilson.
Today, we also remember those who welcomed Maxine into Heaven: her beloved son, Herman Mulvahill Jr.; her devoted husband, Chuck Arrington; her parents, TJ & Purnie Tidmore; and her dear siblings, NormaAnn Jenkins and Pat Tidmore. We can only imagine the joy of their reunion, the laughter they are sharing, and the peace Maxine now knows in the presence of her Savior.
To her family, Maxine was the foundation—a steady presence whose faith never wavered and whose love never failed. She taught us to trust in God, to care deeply for one another, and to meet each day with strength and compassion.
Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, the values she passed down, and the many warm memories we carry in our hearts. While we grieve her loss, we rejoice in knowing she is at peace in the arms of her Savior.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 11a.m. at Pine Bluff Cemetery in Locust Fork, AL. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and honor the life of this extraordinary woman.
“Her children arise and call her blessed. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” – Proverbs 31:28-29
