BLACKWELL, MERICA LITTLES “MERISHA”, was born August 19, 1980 in Cincinnati, OH to Mr. and Mrs. Larry and Amanda Littles. Merisha was granted her angel wings on July 28, 2011 at 11:17 AM. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Merisha had touched in some small way throughout her short, yet very memorable life. Merisha’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Merisha confessed Christ at an early age at Central Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Ambassadors For Christ Church of Birmingham, AL. She was a member of the United States Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, she discovered her calling in nursing. While serving in the Air Force, she united in Holy Matrimony to Chris Blackwell. And from that union, the births of Jordan and Jonathan Blackwell. After returning home, she met Brandon Grigsby and upon to them Kayla Grigsby was born. Merisha leaves devoted Parents, Larry Darnell and Amanda Jean Littles; two cherished sons, Jordan and Jonathan Blackwell; and a daughter, Kayla Grigsby all of Birmingham, AL; one sister and best friend Michelle Littles; nephew, Juan Littles; niece, Lariel Littles all of Atlanta, GA; grandparents, Bannie Benjamin of Birmingham, AL, Barbara Scott of Brooklyn, AL, and Robert and Leila Brye of Mobile, AL; great grandfather, Willie Littles of Brooklyn, AL; three uncles, Dexter Brye of Mobile, AL, Ernest (Quintella) Benjamin of Montgomery, AL, and Shawn Thomas (Mary) of Brooklyn, NY; three aunts, Barbara Brazile and Minnie Kent of Birmingham, AL, and Brandy Samuel of Raleigh, NC; five great aunts, Buice Brye of Bronx, NY, Charlie Mae (Sandy) Wilson of Sumter, SC, Gloria (Wayne) Littles-Andrades of Brooklyn, AL, Addie Benjamin of Evergreen, AL, Margaret Culliver of Brewton, AL; six great uncles, Jonathan (Sara) Littles and John (Bessie) Littles of Brooklyn, AL, Willie Brye of Mobile, AL, Eugene Brye of Evergreen, AL, Willie (Minnie) Williams of Cincinnati, OH, and Kuler Benjamin of Brewton, AL; mother-in-law, Willie Pearl Blackwell of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of cousins and friends.
